Dyngus Day with DEBAUCHE & G STRING ORCHESTRA!!!
New Orleans, LA

“Dyngus Day is the holiday for people who are disappointed to
think that the spirit animating Mardi Gras lives only once a year.”
Dyngus Day is a near-manic lust for celebration, the explosion of excess and sin the first day of relent from austerity and fast; it is the adverse, Polish mirror-image of the immediately pre-Lenten Mardi Gras, with a very kindred spirit. This April 21st, the Monday after Easter 2014, is the third annual Dyngus Day NOLA celebration, at the Siberia Bar, 2227 St. Claude at the corner of Elysian Fields and Marigny. We ramp up steam after 5pm with sit down meals from Siberia’s much respected Kukhnya and some free home baked pastries, followed by local legends Debauche playing a full, free set and setting the carnival tone. Finally, being sponsored by Sobieski, we’re blessed to have access to chilled shots of their best new and classic flavored vodkas at prices which ease the spirit.
